The Harriet Beecher Stowe House, located in Cincinnati, Ohio, is a cultural and educational center promoting black history. Harriet Beecher Stowe lived in the house with her father, Dr. Lyman Beecher, when he became president of Lane Seminary in 1832. In Cincinnati, she saw first-hand the evils of slavery and was inspired to write Uncle Tom's Cabin.
