The House of the Seven Gables Historic Site is a national historic district with six houses listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The House of the Seven Gables, now the Turner-Ingersoll Mansion, is one of the oldest surviving 17th-century wooden mansions in New England and inspired the novel by Nathaniel Hawthorne. The Hawthorne birthplace is also located in this historic site.
