The Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, one of The Research Libraries of The New York Public Library, documents the experience of people of African descent throughout the world. Containing over 5,000,000 items, the center provides resources for constituents from the United States and abroad. It is named after Arturo Alfonso Schomburg, a Puerto Rican-born Black scholar whose personal archives form the core of the collection.
