The Fenimore Art Museum, built on the site of James Fenimore Cooper's home in Cooperstown, New York, is located in a 1930s mansion overlooking Otsego Lake. The headquarters of the New York State Historical Association since 1945, the museum features an extensive collection of fine art, folk art, and American Indian art, including memorabilia, books and paintings associated with James Fenimore Cooper.
