Will Rogers was extremely popular during the ROARING 20s and throughout the DEPRESSION years of the 1930s. He helped lift the country's
mood with his anecdotes about PUBLIC POLICY. Among the policies he disagreed with was PROHIBITION. In his travels abroad, Rogers became interested in AVIATION, and helped promote the need for superior aviation in the U.S. military. Will Rogers eventually became known in the United States as an INTERNATIONAL GOODWILL AMBASSADOR.
