What is American Writers II: The 20th Century?
American Writers II: The 20th Century is C-SPAN's latest historical television series. From March to July 2002, C-SPAN will explore American history through the lives and works of selected twentieth century American writers who have influenced the course of our nation and look at what their works mean to Americans today.
What will viewers see on the series?
C-SPAN takes viewers around the country to historic sites, birthplaces and homes associated with the lives and works of these great American writers for a new live program each week. Every program will feature selected writers' novels, speeches, diaries, essays and life stories, creating a snapshot of American history.
When does American Writers II: The 20th Century air?
American Writers II premieres on Sunday, March 31, 2002. A new program airs each Sunday afternoon at 3 pm ET* through July 7, 2002. To provide educators and others with comprehensive access to our programming, C-SPAN will re-air programs on Friday nights at 8 pm ET*.
Will American Writers II: The 20th Century be copyright-cleared for use in the classroom?
Yes. As with all C-SPAN-produced programs, this series is entirely copyright-cleared for use in the classroom.
